Objectives of the CMDFTT
Objectives

The comprehensive scope of our program seeks to enhance all
aspects of classical music as a profession. It will:

  • provide a database of professional music teachers for
    parents and students,
  • host master classes for teachers and advanced students
  • host workshops for students
  • provide grants for individual musicians depending on
    circumstances
  • provide guidance to teachers and students with regard to
opportunities and selection of tertiary programs.

CMDFTT in initiating these educational programs, will seek
sponsors to underwrite these initiatives.

Other programs of the Foundation include:
  • enrichment of the cultural life of communities by bringing
classical music to those who would not otherwise have
    access to live performances, and
  • arranging appearances at local community centers, as well
as providing tickets to disadvantaged groups for our
    concerts.

CMDFTT’s Annual Gala could become a highlight of the music
season, as International and Caribbean classical music artistes
gather to perform. The concerts will be filmed for subsequent
broadcast over Caribbean television stations and the Classical Arts
network.

Our programs will finance the growth of young artistes and our
educational programs will bring help and hope to another
generation through the gift of music.

Periodic evaluations will be conducted to assess the value of the
CMDFTT in:
  • improvement of the psychological, emotional and
intellectual development of children in secondary schools
as well as in the steelband movement,
  • helping primary and secondary school students to become
more open and appreciative of the classical arts,
  • the development of an awareness of the long-term value of
classical music in education on the part of both teachers
    and parents.
"Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and
bring tears from the eyes of woman."
Ludwig Van Beethoven
